Herbal Horse Feeds - Individual herbs for sale by the kilogram
A wide range of dried fruits, herbs, tree barks and roots (over 50 different botanicals) and biotech yeasts are available for sale by the kilogram at very competitive prices. The most commonly used ones are listed below. If you are looking for a herb or spice not on this list, please telephone for more details. These herbs are premium human food grade - not animal feed grade as usually found in horse feeds. We source herbs that are tested for identification and compliance to British and European Pharmacopoeia standards.
Feeding a small scoop of herbs each day can make a huge difference to your horse, but here are two points to note:
1. Look for what is CAUSING the problem and remove the cause, rather than just buying yet another supplement to address the symptoms. The herbs will work better if the cause is removed.
2. If the main food source (hay, grass, hard feed) is of poor quality, laden with chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers, mould inhibitors, etc), then feeding just one scoop of herbs each day is unlikely to 'cure' the problem. Consider using our hard feeds and you may find the problem resolves anyway!
Herbs are 'functional foods' and not veterinary medicines. These herbs are sold as a Complementary Feeding Stuff For Horses. Actions listed below are from published research in various animals and are provided for information purposes only. The notes here are not intended to replace veterinary advice. If you are concerned about your horse's health, please seek the advice of your vet. Many vets will recommend the use of certain herbs such as psyllium for sand removal from the gut, milkthistle following ragwort poisoning and echinacea following viral infections. It is important that you consult with your vet on any medical matters.
Prices correct as of 20th March 2012. Help us to cut down on the use of plastics and benefit the environment. Prices below are for 1kg refill bags. Please add £1 to supply in re-usable plastic tub/container. Thank you. Telephone 01953 488355 to place your order.

One of the best natural all rounders for providing vitamins and minerals including iodine. Tap water contains chlorine, fluorine and bromines which bind to biochemicals in the body in preference to iodine. Unfortunately, we need iodine and not the other halogens present in tap water for our thyroids and cells to function properly. Our seaweed has been carefully sourced, checking right back to source with the harvester to avoid high heavy metal contamination which is now present in all of our seas and oceans - some areas where seaweed is harvested are more contaminated than others so do check.

Spirulina is the world's highest known vegetable source of B-12 with high concentrations of vitamins A, B-1, B-2, B-6, D, E, and K. In addition, Spirulina also provides necessary minerals, trace elements, cell salts, and digestive enzymes.
